You may have noticed during the olympics that many of the athletes were wearing lots of coloured tape, this is called kinesiology tape and I use the RockTape brand. Which I personally find is the best.
Rocktape is commonly used by health professionals to help with a wide variety of musculo-skeletal and sporting injuries and to achieve the following:
- Reduce swelling, pain, tightness and stiffness
- Delay onset of muscle fatigue and cramp
- Correct postural problems
- Increase blood flow and lymphatic drainage
How does it work?
When applied properly, it lifts the skin away from the muscle, which promotes positive changes in the bodies fluid, mechanical and neurological systems. Commonly people wearing Rocktape report less pain, swelling and tightness, greater awareness of the area and later onset of fatigue. Although it can be applied in a variety of patterns, the tape predominantly works in a few key ways. Kinesiology tape offers structural or muscle support, it can correct postural problems and increase blood flow and lymphatic drainage.
How long will it last?
It can be worn up to 7 days. It is 100% organic cotton and can be worn while swimming or in the shower.
